In
Columbus, Georgia, Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center
has been working with school children and the public to increase
knowledge and enthusiasm for the natural world.
Now, with planning and project management help from Egret and a
grant from MeadWestvaco, the Oxbow center haS an
exciting trail through the treetops. That trail will
enhance Oxbow's patronage and help students and the public
develop excitement and understanding for natural processes.
Egret
worked with the Oxbow team to develop the trail route, to
devise interpretive strategies, to build an operation plan, to
work out sustainable funding for trail operation, and to
coordinate the construction process. Egret and the Oxbow
staff are working closely with faculty and students at Columbus
State University to involve them in research and interpretation
project on the site.
