Timelines
Dr. Becky Champion,
Director of Oxbow Meadows, began exploring the possibility of an Oxbow
canopy trail with Egret Communications several years ago. A grant
from MeadWestvaco in 2003 made the trail dream a plan.

| Egret visited Oxbow
in November 2003 to produce a scoping report on the feasibility of a
canopy access facility. After determining that a facility could,
indeed, add to the center's ability to meet its educational mission,
Egret worked with Greenheart to devise a tentative design that fit
within the grant budget. |
| Egret and
Greenheart met at Oxbow in February 2004 to work with staff, Trees of
Columbus, and MeadWestvaco to further refine siting and design
issues. That session resulted in the development of specific plans
and the selection of a specific route south of the current learning
center. |
| Trail construction
was completed in July 2004.
