Oxbow Meadows Treetop Trail
Research

The Oxbow Meadows canopy trail and associated access to forest canopy provides unique research opportunities for both faculty and students. Special programs are being designed to enable public school groups to actively participate in collection of research data.

Research themes can focus on evolving ecosystems, introduced species, forest riparian zones, and wetlands.  Researchers using climbing gear can compare the forest systems at Oxbow to less impacted forests in similar settings.
Columbus State University's faculty and students will, with canopy research opportunities, join an elite group of international canopy researchers.  The CSU program, already noted for providing international educational experiences, will have new opportunities to take research skills and techniques to other canopy facilities around the world.
