Oxbow Meadows Treetop Trail
There is a new treetop walkway at Columbus State University's Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center - the first phase in a system of suspended canopy trails that will allow visitors to literally walk among the treetops.
The trail construction project, funded by a grant from MeadWestvaco, was coordinated by Egret Communications.  Egret specializes in sustainable tourism and natural history interpretation, internationally.  Greenheart Conservation, which has constructed canopy trails in several places around the world, engineered and constructed the walkway.
The new trail enables new environmental education programs for both school groups and the general public by helping them explore the regenerating riparian forest at Oxbow Meadows.
