Construction
Greenheart Conservation is known internationally for its
canopy construction techniques that attach to trees without damaging
them, and for its "engineered" canopy trails.
|
|
| Greenheart's
patented "treehugger" technology enables the company to
securely attach platforms and trails to growing trees without
penetrating the tree or interrupting its growth. The attachment is
adjusted as the tree grows. |
| Unlike many of the
canopy access systems around the world, Greenheart's trail systems use
engineering to relieve stress on both trees and towers. The load
on each tree or tower is countered so that the net force is downward
rather than sideways. |
| Greenheart uses
cable suspension techniques and a modular aluminum trail decking to
create a trail that is stable to walk on. The trail sides are made
of a strong mesh, ensuring safety without compromising a visitor's
ability to see out into the canopy.
