Siskiyou Coast Tourism Project |
| Over
the past few years, the Northwest has had access to federal
funds to rebuild economies damaged by declining timber activity.
Instead of settling for short term economic stimulation,
the region sought to design and build a new economic sector
based on sharing its exciting natural resources with nature
travelers.
Egret designed a plan, including a series of steps
designed to build an economic sector that will be successful
economically, contribute to the social well-being of residents,
and take care of resources.
The plan is designed to generate an economy that can be
largely controlled locally and that will not be dependent on
either outside funds or local taxpayers.
The multi-stage planning project involved assessment,
planning, resource management, product development, training,
and marketing. |
