Illinois River Valley Tourism Action Plan
Oregon ’s Illinois River Valley had seen years and years of tourism meeting and planning, but no action.  Egret was called in to convene a set of meetings that enabled the community to draw on past discussions, use up to date data on sustainable tourism management, and draft an action plan.  The sessions mixed decision-making with practical training.  Each action point was married to a timeline, and commitments were made and recorded that ensured both action, and a balance of community input.  After years of talk, the community moved to action.  Ideas became plans and plans were made reality.  The community began to make progress, to define itself among visitors, to invest, and to achieve returns on investment.
