Galapagos Tourism Marketing
Before “ecotourism” became a hot term, before the principles of sustainable tourism development were formulated, a shift began in travel patterns.  Travelers began to seek experiences that were more intimate, had fewer impacts on people and places, and delivered more lasting knowledge and memories.  One of the first travel organizations to recognize and service this new group of travelers was Nature Tourism International.  The company needed to market to potential patrons to excite them about its offerings – but also to unveil a style and philosophy of travel that separated it from other travel providers of the time.  Islands of the Tortoise, a three projector multi-image production and a single projector slide/sound show were created to accomplish those goals.  The projection received Best of Show at the 1985 Association of Multi-Image regional competition.
