Lake Placid - Essex County Visitors Bureau has contracted with Egret Communications (www.egret.us) to guide a planning project designed to engineer future tourism for Essex County to meet the desires of communities and the tourism industry.

The project will run from May 2008 until late fall 2009.  It will culminate in a Destination Master Plan for Essex County that reflects the will of the citizens and tourism interests in the county - and, importantly, the steps Essex County intends to take to make those interests into reality.

This website is dedicated to the planning process.  It's a place you can check back often and find out what has happened, who has participated, what conclusions have been reached, and what will happen next. 

We intend this process to be open and transparent and encourage you to both participate in the process and follow the progress.

Full Destination Master Plans are available for Wilmington, Ticonderoga, Schroon Lake, Saranac Lake, and Moriah.  Click on the community links to the right to navigate to downloadable copies of those plans.

The Essex County Destination Master Plan and the Lake Placid Destination Master Plan will be posted here after rollout.  Rollout is anticipated in early 2010.
