Lake Placid - Essex County Visitors Bureau contracted with Egret Communications (www.egret.us) to guide a planning project designed to engineer future tourism for Essex County to meet the desires of communities and the tourism industry.
The project ran from May 2008 until late fall 2009. It culminated in a Destination Master Plan for Essex County that reflects the will of the citizens and tourism interests in the county - and, importantly, the steps Essex County intends to take to make those interests into reality.
This website is dedicated to the planning process. It's a place you can check back often and find out what has happened, who has participated, what conclusions have been reached, and what will happen next.
We intend this process to be open and transparent
and encourage you to both participate in the process and follow the
progress.
